Sergio Ordaz is an Associate Attorney and a member of Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley’s Litigation Practice Group in our Pasadena office. Sergio’s legal experience includes civil litigation in state and federal court. His experience encompasses a wide range of litigation, including premises liability/dangerous condition of public property, personal injury, wrongful death/survival actions, civil rights actions, Monell actions, police misconduct, excessive force, qualified immunity, government immunities, California Tort Claims Act, Public Records Act, eminent domain and Pitchess motions. Sergio’s experience also includes pre-litigation, law and motion, discovery, subpoenas, document review, restraining orders, Government Claims Act procedures, discovery disputes and trial preparation.
Prior to joining Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley, Sergio was an attorney in another public law firm where he represented a diverse range of government entities in litigation and non-litigation matters. Sergio also worked as a paralegal before passing the bar exam, gaining broad experience in all phases of litigation.
Sergio earned his J.D. from Glendale University College of Law’s night program. While in law school, Sergio worked full-time and raised his daughter. In addition, Sergio developed skills that allowed him to maintain a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to his work. Sergio earned his B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University Los Angeles where he received dean’s list honors for his academic achievements. He also earned an Associate in Arts degree from East Los Angeles College.
