Jennifer is Senior Counsel in CHW’s employment law practice. She has provided employment compliance advice to employers both in law firm and in-house capacities for over 30 years. Her initial years of practice included employment litigation and participation in multiple employment discrimination jury trials before she transitioned into advisory and transactional roles. Her work as a Human Resources professional provides a further dimension to her experience and a practical perspective, direct engagement with employees, and problem-solving in practical contexts. She has created and presented training programs on a wide array of employment topics and authors legal update articles for Human Resources professionals. Jennifer has performed Human Resources compliance audits, drafted employee handbooks, created wage/hour and compensation calculation tools, and wrote a comprehensive Human Resources processes manual, including compliance forms, agreements, and policies covering the employment lifecycle. She has represented clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Civil Rights Department (formerly the Department of Fair Employment of Housing), California Labor Commissioner, Employment Development Department and Workers Compensation Appeals Board. She also has performed many workplace investigations and represented clients in pre-litigation negotiations and mediations.
Jennifer is a Southern California native and graduated from UCLA, cum laude, with a degree in English Literature. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where she participated as a staff writer on the Entertainment Law Journal. She also served as legal extern for Judge Jerold Krieger on the Los Angeles Superior Court. In both 2018 and 2020 she was recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the Most Influential Women Attorneys.
