Sarah is Senior Counsel in the Firm’s labor and employment and litigation departments, resident in our Grass Valley office. She represents cities, counties and special districts, other public and private employers, and clients operating in highly-regulated industries. 

Sarah’s practice covers all aspects of private and public labor and employment law matters, including representation in litigation, arbitration, and administrative forums; hiring and termination; workplace investigations and employee complaints; disabilities and leaves of absence; employee discipline; and employer confidentiality and proprietary rights protections. 

Sarah also assists businesses subject to rigorous regulatory oversight, including the gaming and cannabis industries, although not adversely to local government agencies. Her services include assisting clients with regulatory compliance, licensing, transactional matters, and litigation. 

Focused on efficient results and practical solutions, Sarah values active risk management, creative problem-solving, and zealous advocacy for her clients when disputes arise.

Sarah graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2002 with a B.A. in Psychology, with honors.  She received her J.D. from University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2005. She is licensed to practice in Arizona and California. 

Through law school, Sarah volunteered for the East Bay Worker’s Rights Clinic, as a student counselor and, later, student director. She served as Executive Editor for the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Law and received the Moot Court Advocacy Award. 

Sarah is a member of the Nevada County Bar Association, California Lawyers Association, and Nevada County Alliance, where she previously served as a Board Member.  

Sarah lives in the Sierra Foothills and enjoys hiking and bouldering, particularly along the Yuba River. She is an avid practitioner of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and enjoys spending time with her family.
