Nikhil is an associate with Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley’s municipal advisory and litigation practice groups and resident in our Pasadena office.
Nikhil advises our municipal agency clients on the Political Reform Act, Brown Act, Public Records Act, and general civil litigation. Nikhil is also active in the firm’s cannabis regulation and enforcement practice.
Before joining the Firm, Nikhil worked for a public agency law firm handling public finance and facilities issues for municipal agencies and served as general counsel to school districts and water utilities. Nikhil has also previously worked as a prosecutor for the City of Los Angeles, prosecuting criminal misdemeanors and municipal code violations, including 16 jury trials to verdict.
While in law school, Nikhil worked for a number of federal and local agencies including the Los Angeles District Attorney, Los Angeles World Airports, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He also served as Articles Editor of the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law.
Nikhil graduated from the University of Arizona with a Juris Doctor and a certificate in International Trade and earned a Dean’s Achievement Scholarship. Nikhil graduated University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies.
